Dear Friends of the Delta Community Foundation,
In 1986 a group of Delta residents and Rotary Club of Ladner members determined that Delta should have an organization that would allow residents of Delta and others to provide donations and endowments to the future benefit of Delta.
Since 1986 Delta Community Foundation (formerly Delta Foundation) has taken donations in the form of endowments and has, through interest raised, assisted many charitable organizations throughout Delta. This annual report details this assistance.
We very much appreciate the support we have received from donors over the past 19 years. Their support through donations and events such as the Mayor’s Ball, the Phantom Ball, and Rotary Ride has been essential to the ability of the Foundation to support local charities.
I also want to express my sincere thanks for the time and support provided by the Board of Directors who have given freely of their time and efforts in support of the Foundation.
Directors and supporters of the Foundation do so on a volunteer basis. This group of community volunteers are the heart of the Foundation.
In 2004 – 2005, the Foundation once again participated in the Vancouver Foundation funded LEADS program. This program allows us to distribute additional funds to community charities for their programs to build profile in the community.
The name of the Foundation has been changed to Delta Community Foundation. This name more accurately recognizes the role that we wish to play in the charitable life of Delta.
As the Foundation moves forward we will be focusing our efforts on those professionals providing estate planning assistance to residents of Delta. Estate planners, lawyers, and professional advisors will receive an information package outlining the unique services that Delta Community Foundation can provide for their clients.
If you have any comments, suggestions, or questions we would be pleased to hear from you. I extend our sincere thanks for your continued support.
Barry Irvine, P. Eng.,
Chairman
