North Delta residents housebound by restrictions during the COVID-19 pandemic, such as the elderly, low income families and those living with mental illness, will continue to receive freshly prepared, nutritious meals from Surrey-North Delta Meals on Wheels, thanks in part to $15,000 in emergency funding from the Delta Foundation.
The project, “Subsidized Meals During COVID-19 Pandemic” will continue to provide meals to those experiencing food and financial security issues -- also including those who have lost employment or individuals or families who are immune compromised, persons recuperating from surgeries or anyone who cannot adequately prepare their own meals -- with the $15,000 grant from the Emergency Community Support Fund administered by Community Foundations of Canada on behalf of the Government of Canada.

The project will allow the housebound people in North Delta to remain in their homes without having to worry about the physical contact in shopping for groceries and the delivery of meals daily Monday to Friday and allows seniors, not financially able to afford the service, to benefit as well.
